Using less shampoo, shampooing less frequently or diluting your shampoo are all example of low ‘pooing . You don’t have to use shampoo, but maybe you just want to for whatever reason. If you must shampoo it is best to use gentle shampoos. But if you just can’t go without, low-pooing is a way to have your cake and eat it too. Shampoo Less FrequentlySimply change out some of your shampoos for co-washes, you my find yourself switching from shampooing all together. If you usually shampoo every few days try once a week. Shoot for shampooing once a month if you still want to use shampoo. Dilute Your ShampooDilute your shampoo with water or herbal tea half and half. You will find that a little bit still will go a long way. Spray It OnIn stead of trying to pour your shampoo on your hair spray it on. This is easier to do when you have diluted (see above). You will be able to control where it goes better and less of it will run down the drain. Just Wash Your ScalpCoat the ends of your hair with conditioner and only shampoo your scalp. You will have far less tangles and your can deep clean your scalp as needed. Back to Natural Basics PageBack to Natural Hair Care Guide Home Page
