There is just something about knowing exactly what you are putting on your hair. The recipes below work great, are all natural and good for your hair.

Homemade Shampoo Recipes

Natural shampoos will get your hair clean without striping your hair of its natural oils or exposing you to chemicals that could make you sick. There are other ways to get your hair clean, but if you must have lather and foam, these will give you that and clean hair with no harmful side effects.

Basic Customizable Shampoo

This is a very basic gentle shampoo recipe. You can customize it by choosing herbs that meet the needs of your hair.

To make:

Place herbs in a clean mason canning jar with a lid.

Boil the spring water and pour over the herbs.

Cover and let stand for 15 to 20 minutes.

Strain the tea into a bowl.

Add the liquid castile soap and almond or apricot kernel oil and mix thoroughly.

Scent with essential oil and mix again.
