Hair Smoothers, Gels and Sprays

Whether you are doing twists, putting in extensions, or pulling your hair up into a puff, hair gels can help you achieve a smooth polished look. Here are some all natural alcohol free hair gels. 

Frizz Controller

• 1/2 cup conditioner
• 1/4 cup honey
• 1 tablespoon almond oil

Directions:
Mix all ingredients, blending well;

Spray hair with water mister to dampen it;

Work mixture through hair thoroughly;

Leave on for 20 minutes;

Shampoo.

Frizz Control for Curly Hair

• 1 small aloe vera leaf (or aloe vera gel)

Directions:
Snip off end of leaf and apply a dollop of aloe vera gel to palm;

Work through hair to ends.
 

Natural Hair Gel

• 1/2 to 1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin

Directions:
Thoroughly dissolve gelatin in 1 cup warm water;

Keep refrigerated in sealed container.

Natural Hairspray

• 1/2 orange
• 1/2 lemon

Directions:
Chop fruit into small pieces and place in a pot with 2 cups water;

Boil until reduced by half;

Cool, strain, and place in a spray bottle;

Store in the refrigerator

Add more water to reduce stickiness, if desired.

Nettle Hair Lotion 

• 1 cup nettle tops

Directions:
Simmer nettles in three cups of water;

Strain;

Rub into hair and scalp every other night for soft, shiny hair;

Keep refrigerated.

Sugar Hair Lotion

• Sugar

Directions:
Dissolve 1 teaspoon sugar in 1 cup warm water;

Apply to damp hair before styling.
