Conditioning is one of the most important things that you can do for your hair. Below you will find some great recipes that you can create in your own kitchen.

Mix all ingredients in a medium-sized bowl with your hands until it's a consistent green color;

Smooth into hair being careful to work it to the ends;

Mane N Tail Plus

Mane ‘N Tail products have been around for over 30 years. They were formulated for horse. When horse owners saw what the product was doing for their horse hair, they started using it on their own!

This recipe uses Mane ‘N Tail conditioner. It is a deep conditioner so I wouldn’t recommend using it more than one or twice a month.

  • 1 cup Main ‘N Tail  Conditioner
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 ½ tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 – 10 drops of your favorite essential oil

Directions:

In a sauce pan melt coconut oil on low heat.

Add olive oil and remove from heat.

Mix in Conditioner and mix thoroughly.

Add essential oils and mix again.

Store in a recycled bottle.

Shake well before use.

Hair Flouring

We all know that good flour makes good bread. Did you know that flour can be used to make your hair shiner and more manageable? It can! And you can use almost any flour.

You’ll need:

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 cup water (distilled is best)
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • a plastic conditioning cap

Directions:

Mix flour water and acv in a bowl.

Apply mixture to your dry hair as you would a relaxer. You want to focus on the individual strands and not the scalp.

Smooth all your hair to the top of your head.

Put on the plastic cap.

Leave on for 20 – 30 minutes.

Remove cap and rinse with COOL water. (You DO NOT want to use hot or warm water as it will make the flour stick to your hair shaft. You will have a gooey mess on you hands.)

Shampoo with a gentle shampoo or clarifying conditioner and rinse with COOL water.

Mayonnaise Pack

Mayonnaise makes a great conditioner for dry hair. The vinegar helps with natural pH. You can make your own or use store bought.

You’ll need:
  • 1 cup of mayonnaise
  • plastic conditioning cap

Directions:

Wet hair with warm water

Scoop mayonnaise onto your hair; gently massage it into your scalp in circular motions.

Work it down to the ends.

Smooth it all to the top of your head and cover with a plastic bag.

Leave on for at least 30 minutes.

Shampoo with a gentle shampoo as normal.
