Homemade Hair Rinses and Mists

Hair rinses serve many purposes. You can use them to change your hairs color, help with managability, promote health, and to treat conditions. Here are a list of some helpful hair rinses you should try.

Oregano Hair Detangler

  • 1/2 cup fresh oregano leaves
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup water

Directions:
In a saucepan, heat all ingredients together on low;

Let simmer for 30 minutes;

Remove from heat and strain mixture to remove particles;

Let solution cool;

When cool, pour solution into spray bottle;

After shampooing and conditioning hair as usual, spray the solution directly into the hair, saturating the strands and the scalp

Comb through hair and leave on.

 

Cherry Almond Hair Mist

  • 1 teaspoon cherry extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 cups water

Directions:
Mix all ingredients together and pour into a spray bottle;

Shake well before each use;

Apply by spraying into hair;

Massage with fingers or by combing through.

 

Linden Flower Rinse for Dried Hair

  • Linden Flower

Directions:
Pour one cup of boiling water over a teaspoon of linden flower;

Steep for ten minutes, then strain;

Massage into scalp gently and evenly;

Leave it on the hair without rinsing;

Dry your hair with a dry soft towel;

Avoid blow drying if possible.

 

Birch Leaf Rinse for Healthy Scalp

  • Birch Leaf

Directions:
Pour one cup of boiling water over a teaspoon of birch leaves;

Steep for ten minutes, then strain;

Massage into scalp gently and evenly;

Leave it on the hair without rinsing

Dry your hair with a dry soft towel;

Avoid blow drying if possible;

Warning: On blonde hair it will darken it.

 

Scalp Stimulant

  • Mouthwash
  • Witch hazel

Directions:
Mix together mouthwash and witch hazel in equal parts;

Dip an electric toothbrush in the mixture;

Rub the scalp with the vibrating brush;

If you experience an uncomfortable tingling, gently rub the spot with a piece of cut banana.

Shampoo hair.

 

Dandruff Control

  • Rosemary essential oil

Directions:
Wash and dry your hair;

Add three drops of oil to half a cup of warm water;

Massage into your scalp;

Gently towel your hair dry;

Repeat as often as you wash your hair.

 

For Itchy Scalp

  • Herbal tea

Directions:
Use a strong, organic herbal tea that has cooled;

Following shampoo and conditioner, gently massage into your hair and let sit;

Rinse out with cool water.

 

Odor Removal

  • 1 cup tomato juice

Directions:
Pour juice throught your hair and let sit for 10 - 15 minutes.

Rinse with cool water.

This rinse should remove most smell from your hair. 

 

 Horsetail Hair Rinse

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons dried horsetail

Directions:
Steep horsetail in boiled water for 20 minutes;

Shampoo hair and rinse thoroughly;

Poor horsetail rinse through hair;

Leave in for ten minutes;

Rinse with clear water.

 

Rosemary Rinse for Oily Hair

  • 1/4 cup dried rosemary

Directions:
Simmer rosemary in 1 1/2 cups of water;

Strain mixture and discard rosemary;

Use remaining mixture as the final rinse after shampooing.

 

Lemon Aid Shine Rinse

  • Lemon Juice

Directions:
Mix the juice of one lemon with a cup of water;

After normal hair washing, apply this rinse;

It will shine even the dullest hair.

 

Silken Sealer (ACV rinse)

  • Apple cider vinegar

Directions:
Apply quarter of a cup of apple cider vinegar into damp hair;

Leave for three minutes;

Rinse it.

 

Cleansing Rinse

  • White Vinegar

Directions:
Mix one half cup vinegar and 2 cups of water;

This works similar to the lemon juice to give hair extra shine.

I forgot to say which one is good . Aloe vera works great. The key is twist and clip. Sit under a cool/ warm dryer and let it dry take out the clips...
