Written by Kaystyle

Kaystyle is from Virginia. Professionally, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Business Management and is currently employed by the nation's largest CATV test equipment manufacturer. She aspires to one day become an accomplished published writer. She decided to write for NHCG to offer insight to others considering going natural. One thing she learned during her transition into naturalhood is that her hair is just as manageable now as it was when it was relaxed. Uncovering this one myth has encouraged her to stay natural.

She admits that while she has opinions on just about everything she has learned to be slow to speak and quick to hear. As a single woman without children, she is very active in her church ministry and enjoys hobbies such as reading and going to plays. In her personal life, Kaystyle does her very best to enjoy her relationship with Christ, family and friends and keep drama to a minimum. Befittingly, the motto she lives by is “keep it light, keep it real.”

I love this story of the ol' nappy journey. It took me a whole year to decide to loc. Mainly because I disliked the prep time of relaxed hair. I tell you it was the best decision for me. I am in my 2nd yr. of locs and lov'in every minute of it. You go girl! Stay true to yourself.
