A few days ago I was looking for natural hair care blogs. I found a few but I found more locked hair blogs than blogs of natural wearers whose hair is not locked. I started thinking about this. Why is it that locking seems to be such a huge thing now, even more so than when I was locked six years ago? I settled on two reasons. |

If there is one area of the site that I can say that I have neglected it is the area of “Extension, Weaves and Wigs.” I have to admit for a long time my decision not to really talk about the subject has been influenced by a sort of unspoken taboo. |

As I was making plans about what to post I found myself self editing. There were some topics that would really fit and be helpful to people who want to stay natural but I had some reservations about writing about them. I had to ask myself, “Why?”
That question brought me back to a conversation that my husband and I had while traveling back from a business trip. I don’t know how the conversation started. I actually think it was one of those “why do black men. . .?” In the course of the conversation we started talking about black women and their hair. |
