Great advice on the wig regimen! I just found this website today and I happened to stumble upon this article. I had been following this technique for several months and I can attest that it works!! I have tried (and failed) in the past all my previous attempts to 'go natural'. My problem was that I would have braids (extentions) that were just damaging to my hair and scalp. I could never maintain healthy natural hair and I would always give in to getting a relaxer anyway. So finally, in April of '08, I decided to try again but this time with the help of wigs. My natural hair is healthy, most people think I'm just wearing a weave and I have virtually no breakage or damage to deal with. Plus, I get to wash my hair and deep condition as often as I want. - PrettyGyrl777

i have considered doing this regimen, the thing is i've had a hard time finding a wig that doesn't look cheap and fake. i'm kinda looking for something that's about shoulder length. if anyone has any tips on what to look for when shopping for a wig- i'm open for any suggestions. thanks. - augusta

Ok it has been almost 3 months to the day. I have been doing the wig regimen and it is going great my hair is growing and is very healthy, I only have the wigs on when I am at work any other time I wear my natural hair so that my hair will have the chance to breath, and so I can play in my hair I love the way my natural hair feels. - Marty81

When I did the big chop in 2004, I used wigs for about six months and my hair did grow a lot. I am going to use the wig regimen again, I am going to a wig shop this weekend to find 2 wigs that I can wear over the next couple of months. ;) - Marty81
