Hi Joyce,

When I wore my yarn locks (which really were no more than regular individuals braided with acrylic yarn instead of braiding hair) I was able to style them just like natural braids at first. As they got older they lost some of their ability to hold. So yes you can change styles with yarn locks. I've found that the acrylic yarn (I used redheart yarn from Wal-Mart) held more water and product than regular braids. I can't say that I ever had a problem with my hair getting over dry.

This was one of my favorite styles. I don't wear extensions any more because my natural hair is past my shoulders but if I did this would definitely be one of the top three.

hope that helps!

Hey Amy,
I am considering yarn locz and would like to know how you maintained them when you were wearing them. I would also like to know if you were able to wear them in diffrent syles. I like wearing twistouts/braidouts and curly styles. Is that a possibility with yarn locz? I've also been wondering how I would keep MY natural hair mosisturized without the yarn soaking up the oil/water spritz.
So far you are the only sister I have been able to contact since I began my search on yarn extentions. I hope to hear from you soon. - joyce mckelvy
